NORTH BEND, Ore. – The Coast Guard airlifted an injured man from a beach at Ocean Cliff, near Port Orford, Ore., yesterday.

Coast Guard Air Station North Bend received a call at approximately 10:45 p.m. Thursday from the Curry County Police Department that they had located a man who had been reported missing that morning and needed assistance. A Coast Guard HH-65 Dolphin helicopter crew was dispatched to the scene.

Members of the Curry County Police Department used a spotlight to guide the Coast Guard helicopter crew to the injured man’s location and a rescue swimmer was lowered onto the shore to aid the injured man.
