Coast Guard Aids to Navigation Team Kodiak to hold change of command

Kodiak, Alaska — Chief Petty Officer Shaun Wunch will relieve Chief Warrant Officer Christopher Harward as officer-in-charge of Coast Guard Aids to Navigation Team Kodiak during a formal ceremony at the Golden Anchor on Coast Guard Base Kodiak, Wednesday at 10 a.m.

Harward has commanded ANT Kodiak since March 2012. His next assignment will be as the search and rescue station and boat manager in Juneau.

Wunch reports to Kodiak from duties as executive petty officer of Coast Guard Station Sand Key in Clearwater, Fla. His previous assignments include service as executive chief petty officer aboard the Coast Guard Cutter Elderberry in Petersburg and operations petty officer, deck watch officer and fisheries boarding officer aboard Coast Guard Cutter Staten Island in Atlantic Beach, N.C.

Wunsch, originally from Port Huron, Mich., joined the Coast Guard in February 2000. He is a graduate of the Chief Petty Officer Academy. His personal awards include two Coast Guard Commendation Medals, the Coast Guard Achievement Medal, the Commandant’s Letter of Commendation, and several others.
