Change of command ceremony for Aids to Navigation Team Fort Pierce, Fla.

FORT PIERCE, Fla., — Petty Officer 1st Class John J. Jordan is scheduled to assume command of Coast Guard Aids to Navigation Team Fort Pierce, Florida in a ceremony at Coast Guard Station Fort Pierce today.

Chief Petty Officer Matthew Avery, officer in charge since July 2011, will transfer to the Coast Guard Cutter Gasconade as the executive officer in Omaha, Nebraska.

Jordan, a native of Lewiston, Idaho, is transferring from Aids to Navigation Team Puget Sound in Seattle, Washington.

Capt. Austin J. Gould, Coast Guard Sector Miami commander, will preside over the ceremony and is scheduled to speak on behalf of the accomplishments of the aids to navigation team while under the direction of Avery and to welcome the new officer in charge.
