Body Recovered Identified as One of Two Missing Boaters

HOUSTON – The Chambers County Medical Examiner positively identified the body recovered last night as that of Martha Harris. Identification was made via a driver’s license found on the body.

At around 7:45 p.m. last night, a passer by spotted the female body floating in the water approximately two miles off Seabrook, Texas. Texas Parks & Wildlife recovered the body and transferred it to the Chambers County Sheriff’s Department in Baytown.

Rescue crews from the Coast Guard, Texas EquuSearch, Texas Parks and Wildlife, and local police and fire crews continue the search this morning for Bill Harris.

Bill and Martha Harris went missing yesterday after their empty boat beached itself near Pine Gully Park with the engines still running.
