Body of missing diver found

SANTA CRUZ ISLAND, Calif. — The body of a 27-year-old diver was found by Ventura County Sheriff’s Department divers in an underwater cave, Sunday afternoon.

The Coast Guard, the Santa Barbara Sheriff’s Department, the Ventura County Sheriff’s Department and the National Park Service have been conducting extensive search patterns since Saturday, utilizing various air and surface assets.

The diver’s body was transported to Santa Barbara by the Coast Guard Cutter Blackfin. The cause of the accident is unknown.
