Coast Guard helicopter crews searched by air as Texas City police and fire department crews searched by boat and on shore Wednesday after a man reported that he couldn’t locate his son, 26-year-old Danny Joseph Kenney. The man reported that he last saw his son when his son was wade fishing in Dickinson Bay near Shell Island early Wednesday morning and believed he may have walked to shore.

The Coast Guard search was suspended shortly after Texas City authorities stopped searching Wednesday afternoon due to being unable to confirm that a person was missing.

At 11:09 a.m. Thursday, a boater notified the Coast Guard that he found a body outside of Dickinson Bay and the apparel matched the initial description of Kenney.

Texas City police are investigating the missing person incident.
