Atlantic Beach, Fla. — Coast Guard Sector Jacksonville is scheduled to establish a temporary safety zone, restricting boating access on the Atlantic Ocean east of Jacksonville Beach, Fla., Friday through Sunday.
The safety zone will be in place prior to and during the Sea and Sky Spectacular and will encompass all waters from 31st Avenue South to 20th Avenue North in Jacksonville Beach and out one-half of a mile. This zone will be marked with orange buoys.
The safety zone will be enforced from approximately 10 a.m. until 4 p.m. each day.
The safety zone is necessary to protect spectators and the general public from the hazards associated with the sky display over the navigable waters.
All people and vessels are prohibited from entering, transiting through, anchoring in, or remaining within the regulated area unless authorized by the captain of the port of Jacksonville or a designated representative.
