Areas of Cleveland Inner Harbor closed to boating traffic during Cleveland National Air Show

Great Lakes Coast Guard NewsCLEVELAND — The Coast Guard is announcing Thursday which portions of the Cleveland Inner Harbor are scheduled to be closed to boating traffic Thursday through Monday, in conjunction with the Cleveland National Air Show.

Due to Federal Aviation Administration regulations, the inner harbor from Port Authority Pier 24 to a point just west of 55th Street Marina will be closed to all marine traffic.

The GPS coordinates are:
41°30 ‘ 20 “N and 81° 42 ‘ 20 ” W Pier 24 at Port Authority
41°30 ‘ 50 “N and 81° 42 ‘ 49 ” W Northeast of breakwall entrance to Cuyahoga River

41°32 ‘ 09 “N and 81° 39 ‘ 49” W Breakwall parallel to the eastern end of the Burke Lakefront Airport runway
41°31 ‘ 53 “N and 81° 39 ‘ 24” W Quay 55

The safety zone, to be enforced by Coast Guard boatcrews, will be in effect for the following days:

Thursday Aug. 30 11:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.
Friday Aug. 31 10 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.
Saturday Sept. 1 8 a.m. – 6 p.m.
Sunday Sept. 2 8 a.m. – 6 p.m.
Monday Sept. 3 8 a.m. – 6 p.m.

Mariners should listen to their VHF-FM marine radios for current information regarding safety zones and comply with all directions given by local, state or federal agencies.
