Amity Ace Safely Refloated in Brunswick River

BRUNSWICK, Ga. (D7 Public Affairs) – The motor vessel Amity Ace was successfully re-floated and has been moored to a dock facility at Colonel’s Island in Brunswick Friday afternoon.

At approximately 1:10 p.m. the vessel was able to re-float itself with the assistance of two towing vessels along with the rising tide. The vessel will be required to conduct a hull survey to look for damage.

A marine surveyor and Coast Guard inspectors will review the results of the survey and ensure the seaworthiness of the vessel before departure.

Coast Guard personnel from Marine Safety Unit Savannah are continuing to investigate this incident. The Brunswick River is open to all marine traffic with no restrictions.
