Alaska Regional Response Team to host public meeting in Cordova, Alaska

Coast Guard Alaska NewsJUNEAU, Alaska – The Alaska Regional Response Team will be hosting their next public meeting to discuss policies for preparedness and response to discharges of oil and releases of hazardous substances in Alaska and surrounding waters at the Cordova Conference Center in Cordova, Alaska, Thursday 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

There is also a Prince William Sound Sub-Area Meeting scheduled for Wednesday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the same location.

The public is invited to attend either in person or by telephone. A public comment period is scheduled. Those wishing to comment must sign-up during the meeting. Agendas and contact information for the meeting can be located on the ARRT website.

The ARRT is an interagency, intergovernmental coordinating group consisting of representatives of 14 federal agencies, the State of Alaska Department of Environmental Conservation, and federally-recognized tribes responsible for developing and maintaining policies for preparedness and response to discharges of oil and releases of other hazardous substances in Alaska and surrounding waters. The ARRT also has a supporting role in responding to such releases.
