NEW ORLEANS —The U.S. Coast Guard medevaced a woman from a cruise ship approximately 120 miles southeast of Southwest Pass, Friday.
Watchstanders at Eighth Coast Guard District command center in New Orleans, received a call at approximately 9 a.m., from the cruise ship Carnival Triumph, reporting that a 69-year-old female aboard the ship was having problems breathing and required a medevac.
Coast Guard Air Station New Orleans launched an MH-65C Dolphin helicopter and crew to the scene, safely hoisted and transported her to awaiting EMS at Air Station New Orleans.
Her condition is unknown.
