A Look At Coast Guard Bloggers

Bloggers, they’re everywhere and blogging about everything under the sun. Even about the Coast Guard. Do a quick search on Google’s Blog Search and you’ll find that since the beginning of the year, almost 9500 blog entries have been made that mention the Coast Guard.

Who are these people and why do they do it? In an attempt to answer these questions, Coast Guard News will be publishing a series of interviews with some of them. You’ll find an eclectic mix of Active, Reserve, Retired and former members. Some of them have never been in the service. Yet they all write about the Coast Guard.

We ask each of them the same 5 questions:

  1. Why did you first start blogging about the Coast Guard?
  2. What is your vision for your blog?
  3. What kind of reaction have you received from Coast Guard community, either officially or unofficially?
  4. A question about their background – varied with each person.
  5. Is there anything you would like to say to the readers of Coast Guard News?

Although this series falls outside of the regular news that you normally find here on Coast Guard News, we hope that you enjoy getting to know a little more about some of the people who are shaping the opinion of the Coast Guard.

Watch for the first in the series during the next few days.
