7th Coast Guard District Commander to Receive Dominican Naval decoration

Dominican Today reports that the 7th District Commander is receiving the Order of Naval Merit from the Dominican military.

SANTO DOMINGO.- The commander of the Miami-based U.S. 7th Coast Guard District Rear Admiral David W. Kunkel, arrives in the country today Wednesday, to meet with senior Dominican military commanders and the heads of the agencies which enforce drug trafficking, travel and stowaway laws.

In a statement, the Dominican military said Armed Forces minister Ramon Aquino will bestow the Order of Naval Merit on Kunkel tomorrow Thursday, in the company of other U.S. senior officers, including captain Edwin Daniels, of the frigate Howard White.

It said the same decoration will be bestowed on captain James Tunskall, the commander pf the U.S. Coast Guard Service in Puerto Rico.
