NEW ORLEANS – The Eighth Coast Guard District held a change of command ceremony at the Port of New Orleans, Tuesday.

During the ceremony, Rear Adm. Paul F. Thomas transferred command of the Eighth Coast Guard District to Rear Adm. John P. Nadeau.

The change of command ceremony is a time-honored tradition that signifies a total transfer of responsibility, authority and accountability for the command.
