MIAMI — The search efforts for an overdue boater, who was last seen in Key West, Florida, have been suspended Friday evening.
Coast Guard Sector Key West, Florida, watchstanders received a report from the wife of Robert Garcia stating that her husband left Key West City Marina on a fishing trip Saturday morning and never returned Saturday night as planned.
The Coast Guard received the report Sunday and have searched through out the Florida Straits for any sign of Garcia or his boat.
Garcia was aboard the Miss Juliette, a 28-foot white center console vessel with a yellow stripe.
Assisting with the search were:
- Coast Guard Air Station Miami HC-144 Ocean Sentry aircraft
- Coast Guard Air Station Clearwater MH-60 helicopter
- Coast Guard Cutter Margaret Norvelle
- Coast Guard Cutter Yellowfin
In total, Coast Guard search-and-rescue crews have searched 12,804 square nautical miles in the time span of approximately 41 hours.

The Margaret Norvell is a 154-foot Fast Response Cutter homeported in Miami.
The Yellowfin is a 87-foot patrol boat homeported in Charleston, South Carolina.
