Coast Guard urges mariners to exercise caution as storm system passes mid-Atlantic region
PORTSMOUTH, Va. — The Coast Guard encourages mariners in the mid-Atlantic region to use extreme caution as a major storm system passes through the region later this week.
According to a forecast from the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration National Weather Service the storm could bring potential winds in excess of 65 mph and seas exceeding 30 feet to certain offshore areas.
