2 missing, 4 injured after boat accident near Piermont

PIERMONT, N.Y. – Two people are missing and six people were injured after a boating accident near Piermont, N.Y., at approximately 10:40 p.m., Friday night.

Watchstanders at Coast Guard Sector New York received notification from Rockland County Sheriff’s Department that a recreational boat struck an unknown object on the Hudson River, seriously injuring three people, leaving one person unconscious and two people missing.

The vessel involved in the crash was located just north of the Tappan Zee Bridge by the Westchester and Nyack Police Departments.

A rescue boat crew from Coast Guard Station New York, Staten Island, N.Y., as well as members of the NYPD, New York State Police and Westchester Aviation Units, the Tarrytown, Sleepy Hollow, Piermont, and Nyack Fire Departments, and West Chester marine are all assisting in the search for the missing people.
