11-year-old calls for help after father fails to return to the surface

MIAMI — Coast Guardsmen rescued two divers Saturday evening after they failed to return to the surface during a dive three nautical miles north of Haulover, Florida.

An 11-year-old boy aboard a 15-foot white Catamaran called authorities after his father failed to return to the surface with his friend during a dive. Coast Guard Sector Miami launched a boatcrew from Coast Guard Station Fort Lauderdale and issued an Urgent Marine Information Broadcast.
