MIAMI — A woman is safe after the Coast Guard medically evacuated her from the Carnival Cruise Ship Fascination Sunday evening.
Coast Guard Sector Miami watchstanders received notification from the Fascination’s Captain that a woman was showing symptoms of cardiac arrest approximately 38 nautical miles east of St. Lucie, Fla. The Coast Guard quickly decided to medevac her and launched an Air Station Miami MH-65 dolphin rescue helicopter crew.
Once on scene, the helicopter crew safely hoisted the woman and transferred her to Broward General Hospital where she received further care.
The woman was reported to be in stable condition at the time of the transfer.
