Coast Guard Continues Search for Couple off Oceanside
SAN DIEGO — The Coast Guard’s search for Oceanside residents Josh Hartman, 28, and his fiancĂ©e, Ana Martin, 30, continues today. The Coast Guard has collaborated with the Mexican Navy who will search Mexican waters in the vicinity of the 32-foot fishing vessel Pelican.
The Pelican was confirmed by the Mexican navy last night to be aground on a beach just north of Rosarito, Baja California, Mexico. The Coast Guard has been coordinating with the Mexican navy to get more information on the whereabouts of the couple.
“The assistance provided in past two days by the Mexican Navy has been outstanding, and greatly appreciated,” said Cmdr. Daniel LeBlanc, acting Coast Guard Sector San Diego Commander. “We will continue to coordinate our search efforts with the Mexican Navy.”
If anyone has any information on this case, please contact the U.S. Coast Guard Command Center at (619)278-7033.
The Coast Guard has flown 29 hours with a MH-60 Jayhawk helicopter and HC-130 Hercules fixed wing aircraft covering 6,419 square miles of ocean in the last 42 hours of the search.
