Coast Guard releases findings of investigation into fatal 2008 rescue helicopter crash

HONOLULU — The U.S. Coast Guard released the results of its investigation here today into the loss of an HH-65 Dolphin rescue helicopter from Coast Guard Air Station Barbers Point approximately five miles south of Honolulu International Airport Sept. 4, 2008.

FAA Releases Air Traffic Control Recordings of Coast Guard Helicopter Crash

The Pentagon Channel reports that the Federal Aviation Administration has released air traffic control recordings from a fatal Coast Guard helicopter crash in Hawaii.

Funeral Scheduled for CG-6505 Crew Member AST1 David Skimin

Washington – The Coast Guard announced today that a memorial service for Petty Office First Class David Skimin will be held at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday, September 20, 2008. AST1 Skimin was killed on September 4, 20008 in Hawaii when the HH-65C helicopter he was flying in, CG-6505, crashed.
