Search continues for missing scuba diver near New Inlet, Mass.

Coast Guard Cutter Flyingfish, homeported in Boston, arrived on scene around 12 a.m. Saturday and continued to search through the night and today.

The Scituate Harbormaster reported the overdue 29-year-old scuba diver to the Coast Guard about 1/4 mile south of New Inlet, Mass., around 3 p.m. Saturday.

“The Coast Guard encourages all mariners to file a float plan with someone on-shore before heading to sea. If the boater does not return on time, the Coast Guard should be notified immediatey via VHF FM radio channel 16 or by phone,” said Lt.j.g. William Houde of Coast Guard Sector Boston.
