Coast Guard Force Readiness Command holds change of command
YORKTOWN, Va. – Rear Adm. Scott Buschman relieved Rear Adm. Stephen E. Mehling as Commander, Coast Guard Force Readiness Command during a change of command ceremony Friday at Coast Guard Training Center Yorktown. Coast Guard announces annual opening of Rogue River Search and Rescue Detachment
GOLD BEACH, Ore. — The Coast Guard is scheduled to open its seasonal Rogue River Search and Rescue Detachment in Gold Beach, May 24, 2013. The detachment is operated on a seasonal basis from Memorial Day weekend to early Fall depending on boating traffic and bar conditions. Coast Guard repatriates 23 Cuban migrants
MIAMI — Crewmembers aboard the Coast Guard Cutter William Flores repatriated 23 Cuban migrants to Bahia de Cabañas, Cuba, Wednesday. This repatriation was a result of two migrant interdiction cases. Watchstanders at Coast Guard Sector Key West, Fla., received a report from a good Samaritan of a rustic vessel south of Islamorada, Fla., May 10. Coast Guard crews continue to monitor boat fire cleanup in Tarpon Springs
ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. — Coast Guard crews continue to monitor the pollution cleanup Friday from a boat that caught fire near the Sponge Docks in Tarpon Springs, Fla. SWS Environmental Services has collected about 4,900 gallons of water, diesel mix from the water’s surface surrounding the vessel Skye Marie, which caught fire approximately 11 p.m. Tuesday.
