Dump plea costs ship owners $1.25 million – WILMINGTON – The owners and operators of a ship that was stopped by the Coast Guard in Delaware waters in 2005 for suspected violations of international pollution laws have agreed to plead guilty and pay $1.25 million in fines, according to court papers. Barge Hits River BridgeMEMPHIS – A barge slammed into the Union Pacific Railroad Bridge this morning, causing its components to break loose and drift off in the Mississippi River. A Coast Guard unit in Memphis is working fast and furiously this morning to round up much of the individual cargo components that are typically tied together they may have come undone on impact.
