JUNEAU, Alaska – The crew of the Coast Guard Cutter Bailey Barco will conduct tours of the vessel in Juneau, Thursday and Friday.

The Bailey Barco will be moored at the Intermediate Vessel Float behind the Port Field Office in downtown Juneau. Tours will be conducted from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. and from 4 to 6 p.m. both days.

The Bailey Barco, homeported in Ketchikan, is the second of six Sentinel-class cutters to be based in Alaska. The cutter will conduct Coast Guard missions across Southeast Alaska, including search and rescue, law enforcement and marine safety.

The cutter is named after Bailey T. Barco, a Life-Saving Station Keeper who received a Gold Lifesaving Medal in 1901 for his heroic actions during the rescue of a crew from the schooner Jennie Hall.

Tour participants are advised to wear close-toed shoes for safety. Large bags will not be permitted on board.
