Coast Guard suspends search for missing swimmer

SAN DIEGO – The Coast Guard has suspended the search this afternoon for a swimmer who went missing at Torrey Pines State Beach, Calif.

At 7 a.m. today, the Joint Harbor Operations Center received a request for assistance from the State Lifeguards. An MH-60 Jayhawk helicopter crew and a 33-foot response boatcrew launched and conducted multiple searches in the Torrey Pines State Beach area for the 21-year-old male who went missing shortly before 6:30 p.m. Saturday.

Rescue crews including lifeguards from Del Mar and San Diego also responded to assist with the search.
