Coast Guard Seeking Information About Swimmer In Distress

 PORTSMOUTH, Va. – The Coast Guard is urgently seeking information concerning reports of a swimmer in distress near the city pier in Surf City, N.C., Tuesday afternoon.

Rescue crews from Coast Guard Station Wrightsville Beach, N.C., Coast Guard Air Station Elizabeth City, N.C., and the Surf City Police and Fire Departments began searching after receiving several reports of a swimmer in distress near the Surf City Pier at 5 p.m. Tuesday afternoon.
