Coast Guard Sector Delaware Bay holds change-of-command ceremony

PHILADELPHIA — Members of Coast Guard Sector Delaware Bay held a change-of-command ceremony Friday in Philadelphia.

Capt. Kathy Moore, who has served as the sector commander since May 2012, was relieved by Capt. Benjamin Cooper, who has served as the deputy commander of Sector Delaware Bay since July 2013.

As the new commander of Sector Delaware Bay, Cooper is responsible for search and rescue, ports, waterways and coastal security, aids to navigation, maritime law enforcement, pollution response, commercial vessel safety and icebreaking in his area of responsibility.

Rear Adm. Stephen P. Metruck, the commander of the 5th Coast Guard District, presided over the ceremony.
