Coast Guard searching for possible missing person in the water near Rancho Palos Verdes

SAN PEDRO, Calif. – The Coast Guard is searching for a possible person in the water off the beach of the Trump National Golf Course, Rancho Palos Verdes, Calif.

Watchstanders at the Coast Guard Sector Los Angeles-Long Beach command center received notification from a good samaritan a possible missing person in the water at 6:53 p.m. Monday.

The individual was described to be a male in his mid-twenties wearing black shorts, black shoes and had multiple tattoos all over his body.

Sector Los Angeles-Long Beach immediately launched a 45-foot Response Boat-Medium boat crew from Coast Guard Station Los Angeles-Long Beach to search for the missing person.

Along with the response boat, Coast Guard Cutter Halibut, home-ported in Marina Del Rey, was diverted to assist in the search.

Los Angeles County Fire Department, Baywatch Redondo, and Baywatch Cabrillo also assisted in the search for the missing person.

He was reported last seen at approximately 6:50 p.m., swimming in the water with a swimming pool flotation device near Trump National Golf Course, Rancho Palos Verdes, Calif.
