Coast Guard Searching for Missing Cruise Ship Passenger

MIAMI - A Coast Guard aircrew is searching for a missing cruise ship passenger, who may have fallen overboard, approximately 38 miles northeast of Cozumel, Mexico, Wednesday.

Coast Guard search-and-rescue coordinators in Miami received notification from the captain of the cruise ship Carnival Victory at approximately 7 p.m. Tuesday, stating the 44-year-old man’s wife had reported him missing. The man was reportedly last seen at about 1 a.m. Tuesday.

An HC-130 Hercules aircrew from Coast Guard Air Station Clearwater, Fla., was launched to conduct a first-light search Wednesday, and is currently on scene searching a 1,146 square-mile area northeast of Cozumel.
