Coast Guard searching for man near Atlantic City

5th Coast Guard District NewsATLANTIC CITY, N.J. — The Coast Guard along with local agencies are searching for a 59-year-old man who went swimming off a 20-foot boat in the Mullica River here, Sunday.

Missing is James W. Ashley of Mays Landing, N.J.

The owner of the boat contacted emergency services at 12:35 p.m. after Ashley reportedly did not resurface from the swim.

A 25-foot Response Boat-Small crew from Coast Guard Station Barnegat Light, N.J., Coast Guard Station Atlantic City, New Jersey State Police, Mystic Island Fire Department, New Jersey Fish and Game and an MH-65 Dolphin helicopter crew from Coast Guard Air Station Atlantic City are searching for Ashley.
