Coast Guard Searching for Man in Atchafalaya River
NEW ORLEANS — A Coast Guard HH-65C Dolphin helicopter crew from Air Station New Orleans is assisting local authorities in the search for a missing boater in the Atchafalaya River near Cow Island.
Keith Gilcrease, 47, was reported missing by his family at 1 p.m. Tuesday to the St. Martins Sheriff’s Department. He was last seen in a 16-foot boat. St. Martins Sheriff’s Department, Lafayette Sheriff’s Department, and Louisiana Wildlife and Fisheries are also actively searching.
