Coast Guard responds to report of missing boy in Houston Ship Channel

Coast Guard 8th District NewsHOUSTON — The Coast Guard responded to a report of a 16 year-old boy who fell into the Houston Ship Channel, Friday.

Watchstanders at Coast Guard Sector Houston-Galveston received a call from the Houston Fire Department, requesting assistance in locating the boy, who reportedly fell into the channel at Crown Point, near the Washburn Tunnel at approximately 8 p.m.

The Coast Guard dispatched a 25-foot Response Boat-Small and crew from Coast Guard Station Houston to the scene, as well as a MH-65C Dolphin Rescue Helicopter and crew from Coast Guard Air Station Houston.
