Coast Guard responding to collision near Raccoon Straights

SAN FRANCISCO – The Coast Guard is responding to a collision between a Golden Gate Ferry and a 22-foot pleasure craft in the Raccoon Straits that left two people injured today.

At approximately 4:30 this afternoon, a 25-foot response boat from Station Golden Gate arrived on scene and discovered two people injured on the pleasure craft. Those two injured people were taken by helicopter to a nearby hospital.

The Golden Gate Ferry continued to its destination of Pier 1 Embarcadero in San Francisco.

The cause of the collision is currently under investigation.
