NEW ORLEANS – The Coast Guard rescued a person on an inflatable raft near Dauphin Island, Alabama, Monday.

Watchstanders at Coast Guard Station Dauphin Island received a report from the Dauphin Island Police Department of a person on an inflatable raft that appeared to be in distress.

Station Dauphin Island boatcrew members launched a 45-foot Response Boat-Medium and located the person in distress.

Boatcrew members brought the distressed person aboard and transported him in good condition to Station Dauphin Island.

The Coast Guard reminds beachgoers of the dangers of rip tides and to heed beach flag warnings.
