Coast Guard rescues man near Doran Beach, Bodega Bay

47 Humboldt BaySAN FRANCISCO — The Coast Guard rescued a man near Doran Beach at approximately 3:40 p.m., Tuesday.
Watchstanders at the Coast Guard Sector San Francisco Command Center received a call at 3:28 p.m., from Emergency Services requesting assistance in rescuing a man waving for help near a disabled boat 200 yards offshore of Doran beach.
A rescue boatcrew from Coast Guard Station Bodega Bay responded to the scene and retrieved the injured man from the water.
He was transported to Coast Guard Station Bodega Bay where emergency medical service personnel were standing by to treat the man for minor injuries.
The Coast Guard reminds mariners to prepare for emergencies by ensuring they have all required safety equipment, including an effective means of communications, such as a VHF radio. Before taking to the water, boaters are encouraged to review local marine weather conditions.
