Coast Guard Rescues Man after Boat Capsizes in Straits of Mackinaw

CHEBOYGAN, Mich. - The Coast Guard rescued a man after his sail boat capsized at approximately 3:10 p.m., today, in the Straits of Mackinaw.

A Coast Guard Station St. Ignace 47-foot motor lifeboat responded to rescue James Bothwell, 62, one-half mile off of Point Nipigon.

Bothwell was recovered by the Coast Guard. He was transferred to a Cheboygan County Marine boat and brought back to shore.

Cheboygan County Marine towed the 13-foot sail boat to shore.
