Coast Guard rescues injured fisherman

ATLANTIC CITY, N.J. - The Coast Guard rescued an injured man who fell while he was working aboard a 62-foot fishing boat 100 miles east of Tom’s River, N.J, today.

Injured was Kevin Forbes, 45.

The Coast Guard received a call at 12:07 p.m. from a crewmember aboard the fishing boat Miss Peaches reporting that Forbes suffered an injury to his back and in need of medical attention.

An HH-65C helicopter crew from Coast Guard Air Station Atlantic City arrived on scene and lowered a rescue swimmer aboard the fishing boat.

Forbes was hoisted into the helicopter and flown to Coast Guard Air Station Atlantic City and transferred to awaiting emergency medical personnel.
