Coast Guard rescues father and son on Lake Cataouatche

NEW ORLEANS- The Coast Guard rescued a 37-year-old man and his son today on Lake Cataouatche approximately 15-miles southwest of the New Orleans.

A watchstander at Coast Guard Air Station New Olreans received a call approximately 2 a.m. today from a watchstander at Coast Guard Sector New Orleans reporting a man and his son had run their vessel aground on Lake Cataouatche.

Coast Guard Air Station New Orleans launched a HH-65C Dolphin helicopter and crew to assist. The helicopter crew arrived on scene, hoisted both people and transported them back to Air Station New Orleans.
