Coast Guard Rescues Couple Stranded on Ice

SAGINAW, Mich. - The U.S. Coast Guard rescued a husband and his pregnant wife, today, after the two were stranded on the ice in Saginaw Bay at approximately 7 p.m.
Both the husband, 27, and wife, 23, were returned to Coast Guard Station Saginaw River with no injuries.
The couple was ice-fishing in the bay approximately 4.5 miles from shore. When the couple was ready to depart, their All-terrain vehicle’s battery died. The couple called for assistance.
Station Saginaw River received the call at approximately 6:25 p.m. and responded with a 20-foot Airboat.
The couple is from Midland, Mich.
