Coast Guard Rescues Condors – Video

MONTEREY, Calf. (CG News) – The Coast Guard assisted the Ventana Wildlife Society on Sunday in moving eight condors from a facility the society runs on Anderson Ridge south of Point Sur after wildfires in the area threatened the facility.

An aircrew from Air Station San Francisco flew to Monterey Airport where they picked up three members of the society and transported them to the facility, where the Ventana members put the condors in animal carriers and loaded them into the helicopter.

The crew made two flights to Monterey, moving five condors and two members on the first flight, and three birds and the remaining person on the second flight
