Coast Guard Rescues 3 From Grounded Vessel

NEW ORLEANS- The Coast Guard rescued three people from a 20 foot pleasure craft on Lake Borgne late last night.

A watchstander at Coast Guard Air Station New Orleans received the call at 8:20 p.m., with a report of a grounded boat and three adult men on board. The men were without food and water and had a storm moving in to their area. The boat was near Cat Pass on Lake Borgne.

Coast Guard Air Station New Orleans launched an HH-65C Dolphin helicopter crew to rescue the people. The crew arrived on scene, hoisted all three men and transported them safely to Air Station New Orleans.

Rescued were Paul Noel, Alan Christiansen, and Ronald Caillouette, all from the New Orleans area.
