Coast Guard repatriates 46 Cuban migrants, 42 Haitian migrants

7th Coast Guard District NewsMIAMI — The Coast Guard repatriated 46 Cuban migrants to Bahia de Cabañas, Cuba, and 42 Haitian migrants to Cap Haitien, Haiti, during the past week.

The migrants were interdicted at sea during five separate cases since March 9.

The crew of the Coast Guard Cutter Kodiak Island repatriated 35 Cuban migrants Saturday.

The Kodiak Island crew repatriated eight Cuban migrants Sunday.

The crew of the Coast Guard Cutter Venturous repatriated 42 Haitian migrants Tuesday.

The crew of the Coast Guard Cutter Knight Island repatriated three Cuban migrants Wednesday.

Once aboard a Coast Guard cutter, all migrants are provided with food, water, shelter, and basic medical care.

The cutter Venturous is a 210-foot medium-endurance cutter homeported in St. Petersburg, Fla.

The cutter Kodiak Island is a 110-foot patrol boat homeported in Key West, Fla.

The cutter Knight Island is a 110-foot patrol boat homeported in Key West.
