Coast Guard Pacific Strike Team receives Sumner I. Kimball Readiness Award

Novato, CA – Coast Guard Rear Adm. Joseph “Pepe” Castillo, Pacific Area deputy commander presented the Sumner I. Kimball Readiness Award to the Coast Guard Pacific Strike Team Jan. 31, 2013.

The Sumner I. Kimball Readiness Award is earned by Coast Guard units that demonstrate an extraordinary state of readiness in administration, operations, maintenance and training during a rigorous inspection.

This is the first time a strike team unit has ever received the award.
