Coast Guard medically evacuates 45-year-old woman near Boiler Bay, Ore.

ASTORIA, Ore. — The Coast Guard medically evacuated a 45-year-old woman off a beach near Boiler Bay, Ore., Tuesday.

Depoe Fire Rescue requested assistance around 8:45 a.m. to help reach the woman who was located on a part of the beach that was difficult to access.

An HH-65 rescue helicopter crew from Air Facility Newport, Ore., responded to the [amazon-product]B000NJIRWQ[/amazon-product]area and hoisted the woman to safety. She was transferred to an awaiting ambulance on a nearby beach.

The missions of Group North Bend include maritime search and rescue, enforcement of laws and treaties, providing aids to navigation, and marine environmental protection. In addition, the Air Station frequently assists Federal, state and county agencies by responding to calls for assistance with inland searches and medical evacuations.
