Coast Guard medically evacuates 39-year-old male 68-miles off Georgetown, S.C.

7th Coast Guard District NewsCHARLESTON, S.C. – The Coast Guard medically evacuated a 49-year-old male from the 41-foot fishing vessel Gladiator II 68-miles off Georgetown, S.C., Tuesday.

Medically evacuated was James Bohon, 39.

Search and rescue controllers at Coast Guard Sector Charleston received a call at approximately 11:15 a.m., Tuesday, from the captain of the Gladiator II requesting medical assistance for Bohon who had experienced a seizure.

Coast Guard Sector Charleston launched an MH-65 Dolphin air rescue crew from Coast Guard Air Facility Charleston. The crew arrived on scene at 12:38 p.m., and safely transported Bohon to Georgetown Hospital.
