Coast Guard medevacs woman from Royal Caribbean cruise ship

PORT CANAVERAL, Fla. – The Coast Guard medically evacuated a woman from a Royal Caribbean cruise ship four-miles east of Port Canaveral Friday at 6:40 p.m.

Holly Baxter, 31, residence unknown, started to complain of abdominal pains while aboard the Sovereign of the Seas. A medevac was requested after an initial examination by medical personnel aboard the ship.

A Coast Guard 47-foot rescue boat from Coast Guard Station Canaveral met the cruise offshore and transported Baxter back to shore.

Baxter was then taken to Cape Canaveral Hospital located in Coco Beach, Fla., by awaiting EMS in good condition.
