Coast Guard medevacs woman 35 miles south of Key West

MIAMI — The Coast Guard medevaced a 49-year-old woman experiencing symptoms of anaphylactic shock Monday from the sailing vessel Drifter approximately 35 miles south of Key West.

Watch standers at Coast Guard Sector Key West received a radio call at approximately 3 p.m. from the vessel Drifter reporting a woman on board experiencing symptoms of anaphylactic shock.

A Coast Guard Air Station Miami MH-65 Dolphin helicopter crew hoisted the woman and transferred her to awaiting emergency medical services at Key West International Airport at approximately 5:30 p.m. in stable condition for transport to Lower Keys Medical Center.
