Coast Guard medevacs trucker from LaPlace, LA

America's Heartland Coast Guard NewsNEW ORLEANS — The Coast Guard medevaced a trucker from Texas in LaPlace Friday.

Alva Campbell, age unknown, was embarked aboard a Coast Guard Disaster Assistance Response Team 16-foot flood punt for a respiratory condition on the flooded frontage road near the Interstate Highway 55 underpass.

The DART transferred Campbell to the Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries for transport to a medical facility.

Coast Guard search and rescue crews continue to search the greater New Orleans area for people in distress after Hurricane Isaac passed through the area.
