Coast Guard Medevacs Pregnant Woman Off Island

ST. IGNACE, Mich. - A pregnant woman was medically evacuated from an island by the U.S. Coast Guard, today, in north Lake Huron.
A 20-year-old woman was experiencing complications from her pregnancy while she was on Mackinac Island.
The Coast Guard was notified at approximately 1:30 a.m., and dispatched a 47-foot Motor Lifeboat from Coast Guard Station St. Ignace.
The woman was transported to Station St. Ignace where an awaiting Emergency Medical Services ambulance took her to Petoskey Northern Hospital.
